The Environment Division under Phuentsholing Thromde conducted an awareness program on waste composting to encourage waste segregation to minimize waste disposal to the landfill. The program was led by Mr. Pema Wangchuk (Incharge, Solid Waste Section) covering four schools and three residential colonies such as BPC, NHDCL, and NPPF including the officials of the Environment Division. 

This awareness program plays a critical role in understanding the importance of kitchen waste in converting to organic manures, which can be used in kitchen gardens and nurseries. The program will be conducted in other areas to encourage sustainable practices in the community.
